Deadline Extension - Call for abstracts for IASC 2015 Global Conference open until December 1st

The deadline to submit Individual Presentation Abstracts has been extended until December 1st, 2014.

The XV IASC Global Conference, titled The Commons Amidst Complexity and Change, will take place from the 25th to the 29th of May, 2015, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Understanding how the institutions used to manage CPRs ameliorate or reinforce such power asymmetries is a foundationally important task for the social sciences.

The Elinor Ostrom Award on Collective Governance of the Commons Council opens the call to nominate outstanding scholars or practitioners in those fields to receive the Elinor Ostrom Award on Collective Governance of the Commons.

The Award will be given in three categories:
- Practitioners (recognizing the work around the creation, defense, sustainable management and use of common resources by groups, communities, and NGO or federations of communities).

The Elinor Ostrom Award on Collective Governance of the Commons Council opens the call to nominate outstanding scholars or practitioners.

The overall objectives of the Award are:
- To acknowledge Ostrom’s legacy for scholarship and policy-making while making it accessible to wider and more varied audiences, within and outside the realm of international academia.
- To promote Ostrom’s commitment to the training of students, young colleagues and practitioners.

Prof. Elinor Ostrom International Fellowship on Practice and Policy on Commons - Results Announced

The International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC) and Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) are pleased to share the results of the 'Prof. Elinor Ostrom International Fellowship on Practice and Policy on Commons 2013'. The fellowships are a tribute to Prof. Elinor Ostrom, who passed away in 2012, after decades of invaluable contribution to the analysis of economic governance, especially the Commons. The fellowships are action-focused and aimed at bringing together ideas and experiences of practical strategies for securing the commons and commoners rights across the world.
