Munich Summer for MA, PhD students - Global Environments Summer 2012: Socio-ecological Interactions in a Dynamic World

The Rachel Carson Center and the Global Diversity Foundation are now calling for applications for GESA 2012: the second Global Environments Summer Academy on Socio-ecological Interactions in a Dynamic World, to be held as part of the Munich International Summer University (MISU) in August 2012. The Academy is designed to broaden and deepen the knowledge, networking, and communication skills of postgraduate students and professionals who are concerned about human dimensions of environmental challenges.

PhD fellowship - effectiveness and equity in payments for ecosystem services

Dear colleagues,

I am looking for a young, motivated person willing to develop a PhD at the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA), Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain.

The 3-year PhD fellowship (14,000 Euros/year approx.) will focus on analysing the effectiveness and equity implications of carbon and biodiversity offsets in Mexico, informed by qualitatitve and quantitative methods.

ICARUS is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the third ICARUS meeting to be held at Columbia University from Thursday May 17 through Sunday May 20, 2012. ICARUS-III follows on the highly successful ICARUS-I and II meetings organized at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
and the University of Michigan's School of Natural Resources and Environment. The theme of the ICARUS-III meeting is “Scales, Frameworks and Metrics.”
