From 2005 onward, the number of citizen collectivities, also known as ‘commons’ has increased significantly. In citizens’ collectivities, citizens initiate common governance and management of resources in cases where both government and ‘the market’ appear to fail or refuse to act. Parent participation child care, Wikipedia, Breadfunds, and wind energy cooperatives are just some examples of initiatives focusing on common rather than on individual interests. The interview with Tine De Moor, past-president of the IASC, forms part of the series of Tegenlicht-documentaries on Dutch Television; the Tegenlicht-documentaries focus on new ideas and trends within politiics, economics, society, technology, and science.
